These foods have no artificial colors, preservatives, and do not contain “filler” ingredients that only serve to produce more fecal matter and provide no nutrition. Their main protein source is meat, not vegetable protein, although we do offer a vegetarian food for pets that may require it. Animals will survive and even be overweight on almost ANY pet food, the difference in the quality of the food is the difference in your pets overall health. Poorer quality foods contribute to increased fecal production, increased shedding, dry, brittle hair coat, flaky skin and most importantly, food allergies. Dogs and cats with food allergies tend to have itchy skin, especially feet and ears, and typically will get recurrent ear infections year round. High quality foods allow you to feed less and promote healthy skin and hair coat, and have less stool production.
