Dr. Franz grew up in Adel, IA where her love for animals started at the local humane society. She continued her interest in college by attending ISU and completed her veterinary degree in 2009. She began her career in Ottumwa, IA where she worked for several years. In 2014, she moved to Independence, IA, and began work as a relief/part-time veterinarian. She has 5 children and when not at work she keeps pretty busy with them and their activities. She enjoys reading, quilting, and gardening as time allows. She has one elderly cat, Otto, who has been with her since vet school
